1930 - Young’s Nurseries, Inc. was founded by John and David Young. Later joined by Philip T. Young, it became the premier nursery and landscape company of Fairfield County.
1970′s- Business was sold to Paul Young, Hans Kuring, and James Fox .
1988- Fifty-four acres of land were purchased in Woodbury, Connecticut for the purpose of growing more of our own trees and shrubs because of the demand for larger and higher quality plant material. We also have a garden center and a landscape service operation at this location.
June 1, 1997 - Young’s Nurseries, Inc. was sold to five long time employees: Tom Daily, Scott Deniston, Dave Gindek, Thomas Kuring and Tad Sanford. Paul Young, Jim Fox and Tad Sanford are now retired, while Hans Kuring continues to be employed as chief grower at the Woodbury nursery.
Young’s Nurseries, has been listed as one of the top 100 nurseries in “Nursery Retail Magazine” for three years. We are dedicated to supplying our customers with the highest quality and the most extensive selection of plant material possible.
Young’s Nurseries of Woodbury offers an extensive selection of plant material, 20+ varieties of lilacs in sizes from 2′ to 7′, hydrangeas, wegelia, viburnums and many other flowering shrubs in landscape sizes, to name just a small part of our selection of material. We have evergreen screening material from 5′ to 30′ and specimen sizes of flowering and shade trees, specimen dwarf conifers, and a large selection of other ornamentals.
Young’s Nurseries experienced staff continues to improve our customer service and offer greater flexibility in all our services. We have a dedicated crew devoted to customer service so that we do our replacements and other follow up tasks on a timely basis.
